The best way to know if your lama needs the extra copper in the Lama-Min 103 formula is to have your feed analyzed by a laboratory. Ask them to tell you how many parts per million (ppm) of Copper is in your hay sample. Lamas need 10 to 20 ppm in their total feeding program. Lama-Min 103 has 21 mg of Copper per ounce which is the equivalent of adding 7 ppm to their total diet. Take the Copper analysis of your feed in ppm and add 7 ppm to it, if the total is less than 20, you should be using Llama-Min 103.
Caution: Copper should not exceed 60 mg per head per day, or 20 ppm. Levels of Copper considered normal for other species may be toxic to lams. If you are in doubt, please contact your Veterinarian before using the Lama-Min 103 formula.
